Dr. Andrei Javier serves as a Senior Consultant Clinical Services and Total Health Management Consultant at Mercer. In this role, Dr. Javier supports clients as they navigate healthcare issues and as a clinical and planning and strategy resource, working across the industries and clients that Mercer serves. Andrei’s interests include increasing access to health care, chronic disease management, health policy analysis, and developing innovative market solutions to help organizations improve and manage the health of their employees.
Prior to joining Mercer, Andrei conducted and managed clinical research while service as a post-doctoral research fellow in the Nephrology Division of Vanderbilt Medical Center. Her work centered on creating risk prediction models, clinical interventions, and improving quality of care for chronic kidney disease, She has also performed clinical care optimizing work in cardiothoracic surgery at Yale University School of Medicine. Her research has been published in peer reviewed journals including the New England Journal of Medicine, the Journal for the American Society of Nephrology and the World Journal of Cardiovascular Surgery. Andrei has also worked as a health policy analyst and advisor for a boutique consulting firm, working with the Senate Finance Committee and the California State Legislature to develop and analyze innovative solutions to heath system problems. She worked with clients on Medicaid and COBRA financing as well as international health systems benefits and alternative physician incentive models.
Andrei earned her undergraduate degree in behavioral neuroscience from Yale University and an M.D. from Meharry Medical College. She has studied health policy at the University off Copenhagen and was a visiting research fellow at the University of Bologna. She was awarded the 2017 Nashville Emerging Leader Award in Medicine and Health Care Services by the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce.
